Other industries would kill for the data that we have in the arts. Little do our customers know how much they reveal about themselves every time they buy a ticket!

Percentage

What does this mean?

A way of enabling comparisons to be made on a consistent basis.

Thus a percentage is a proportion re-expressed in terms of ‘something out of 100. This is done by multiplying the relevant proportion by 100.

Hence 1 out 4 is 1 ÷ 4 or 0.25 as a proportion. Then when multiplied by 100 (i.e. 1 ÷ 4 × 100 = 0.25 × 100) it becomes 25%.
