[Art] helps me understand the times I’m living in. It helps me see other perspectives. It makes me feel less alone. It makes me feel more human.
It connects me more to the rest of humanity.

Booking

What does this mean?

Both a verb and a noun referring to ticketing transactions made between a booker and an arts facility or its agents.

When the term is used as a verb, it describes the act of carrying out one or many of the interactions that - when considered collectively - amount to a complete transaction. So in this sense, ‘booking’, is a verb that can encompass both the making of an unpaid reservation, and the confirming of that reservation by paying money for it (ie making a purchase). When used as a noun, a ‘booking’ should be taken to mean an overall unit for analysis comprising the complete and finalised sequence of interactions that – when taken together - contribute to the eventual transaction total. For instance it is perfectly possible for such a ‘booking’ to be made up of a sequence of events that includes: an initial, unpaid reservation; it’s following confirmation through purchase; and any associated returns or refunds.
